Fifth season of DLF IPL Twenty 20 scheduled to begin at 4/4/2012. The 9 teams- Chennai Super Kings, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders, Delhi Dare Devils, Kings XII Punjab, Rajasthan Royals, Deccan Chargers and Pune Warriors- will play round robin league matches against each other twice, one at home and one away. There will be a total of 72 league matches, from which 4 teams advance to the Play-Offs. The First match and the final will be held at Chennai.

Finally, the most awaited 100th 100 by Sachin Tendulkar comes after the long one year. After more than one year of the Century drought, Sachin got his 100th against Bangladesh in the Asia Cup, which was in 138 balls. He got it by taking a single against the bowler Shakib Al Hasan in the 4th ball of the 44th over.It was single on the leg side. He took that single in his typical style. He comes down to the track, just waited and suddenly strikes it away for an easy single. Yes, that was a big relief and great sign off for the little master. He was so happy and jumps out in the ground with full of joy. Now it seems the Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar is satisfied in his performance. As usual, he looks to the sky and showing his expression of thanks or satisfaction. Sachin got his 100th Century in 650nd match and 762nd innings. This is his 49th One Day International Century. He got his 100th Century in 462 one day and 188 Test Innings.

Yes, that was the 100th International Century by Sachin Tendulkar, another record by the little master.

Rahul Dravid may announce his Retirement

Rahul Dravid, the Great Wall of Indian Cricket, may call it a day when he addresses the Press Conference on Friday, March 9, 2012. Rahul Dravid has called for a Press Conference and reports indicate that there is every possibility that it would be to announce his retirement from International Cricket. BCCI President, Mr. N. Srinivasan will also attend the Press Conference at Bangalore on Friday. Rahul Dravid has been recently under severe criticism for his poor run in Australia. Rahul Dravid only managed to score a mere 198 runs in 8 innings in the series down under. Since then there was rumors about Dravid retiring from all forms of International Cricket.  He already had announced his retirement from One Day Internationals.

Chennai Super Kings looking to win the Indian Premier League for a third consecutive time still remains the strongest team in the IPL. But it wont be easy for the Super Kings from Chennai to retain their title as all the 9 teams are not lacking in star power. Following the exit of Kochi Tuskers, the players of the Kochi Team were bought by the other teams, with Ravindra Jadeja being the hottest buy of the rest. Chris Gayle has been retained by the Royal Challengers from Bangalore and will be the main attraction following his success in the previous edition of the Indian Premier League and various other domestic Twenty20 tournaments. Indian Premier League Season 5 starts April 4th

The 5th Edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) kicks off on April 4th 2012. The event will feature 9 teams, after the Kerala Tuskers were thrown out the League following disputes with BCCI. Defending Champions Chennai SuperKings led by Indian skipper MS Dhoni still remain as hot favorites to defend their title in the month long mega event. There will be plenty of star power in all the teams and really there won’t be any shortage in action when the 5th season starts. The Indian Premier League Season 5, involving 76 matches among 9 teams, will commence and finish in Chennai, from 4 April 2012 to 27 May 2012, commencing with Chennai Super Kings against Mumbai Indians. Chennai SuperKings are the defending Champions and Mumbai Indians are the Champions League T20 winners. The first match will be held in Chennai at M.A. Chidambaram Stadium. The final will also be staged at Chennai.

Kolkata Knight Riders, looking for a head start this season, have unveiled their new logo and new tagline at Mumbai on Monday. The Baadshah of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan unveiled the new logo and was at his wittiest best. Co-owners Juhi Chawla and Jay Mehta along with the CEO of KKR Venky Mysore were also present at the function. Kolkata Knight Riders one of the most expensive teams in the celebrated IPL (Indian Premier League) has thus far failed to make an impression. They were far behind their reputation in the first three seasons under Saurav Ganguly, but were back in contention in the fourth edition of the IPL in 2011. The newer signings last year with Gautham Gambhir as captain has had an impact. It tends to get better as they have managed to bring back McCullum to their team.
